Rural Iowa Amateur Radio Club's mission is to provide supplemental/backup radio communications to Iowa ARES District 2 (Northeast Iowa) and to further the advancement of the amateur radio service. Emphasis will be placed on providing services to local governments and public service agencies in the rural areas that do not have backup systems in the event of a natural or man made disasters and to provide safety related communications for public events.
Rural Iowa ARC consists of those interested in the amateur radio hobby in northeast Iowa (primarily Fayette County). We participate in ARRL Field Day, hold transmitter hunting exercises (fox hunts), and work public service events with area organizations.
